New Edition of Paper Pulp Drawings/Paintings
With the new year, I've decided to share some thoughts on the process of my (art) making. Last summer, I had an opportunity to work at the handmade paper workshop Dieu Donné in Brooklyn. A couple of intro classes and four intense days with master paper maker Amy Jacobs resulted in this variable edition (14 x 11 inches in size each work) exploiting the visual and tactile properties of hand-made paper.
I worked with cotton pulp. Originally, I wanted to draw (or you can say 'paint') with off-white pulp on black background, but after two days of testing and trying to make it work, I decided to switch the colors. The white pulp on black pulp, despite of being of the same mixture, was not opaque enough (for my liking).
